Tracy R.
I’m a scientist with a penchant for weaving words. But this blog isn’t about science.
The inspiration for this blog was born on a quiet morning walk through the still-sleeping neighborhoods of this city I love so much. On this perfect morning, with the sun warming my back and turning the drops of dew on the grass into a billion priceless diamonds, I reflected on the beauty of life all around me with brand new eyes. And I reflected on the journey I’d undertaken and the lessons I’d learned since my Dark Night. I thought of how different I was from that person who had hit her personal rock bottom and cried out in desperation to the Universe for some kind of help just a few short years ago.
And as I thought of all that I had learned, all that I’d done to rewrite my story, it occurred to me that others might benefit from the messages and teachings that miraculously made their way to me during my struggles on the path. These messages and teachings gave me the tools to heal myself from all of my traumas and learn to love myself in a way that allowed me to be my true self for the first time in my life.
As I’ve gotten to know myself over these precious, short years, I’ve found someone who is amazing in ways I could never have imagined and I’ve found a life that is truly magical! I want this for all of us, especially for older women whom society is so quick to forget once the white hairs start growing in and the children leave home. Who are we when the labels of our youth fall away and we’re faced in the mirror with someone we don’t recognize?
This blog is about being seen, about women seeing each other and women supporting one another. I’d like to see this blog and the chats and comments become something alive, a healing thread that weaves around all of us. As much as I’d like to share, I also hope to learn just as much from your stories and experiences. Let’s begin a journey together.
Welcome to our safe place.
